Topic Meeting of Finding a Job - maybe

From: Bob L.

On an upcoming meeting, we will have as a topic, “Finding a Job in the Current Economic Situation”.  Something like that, the reason is some members like myself are looking for jobs.

The thing I keep hearing is that job functions or duties are transferrable.  Do not keep yourself locked into what you did in the past when job hunting, look for something where the skills you used can be applied to a new position.

Easier said than done I keep looking for employment in the computer industry since that is what I did (computer help desk) my title was computer specialist of course that was a while ago.

All of those interested can help others pick out what can be transferrable and put to use in a new position.

How about volunteer positions using the skills of previous positions?  Possible chance to try out a different job to see if you have an interest?  That one came up as I am putting this together; I have experienced that and find I am interested in a slightly different area.

Possible jobs could be virtual or a work at home, try out something you may find an interest in a position that you haven't thought of before.

Well these are some ideas of mine, should we have a topic meeting to find a job?
I mean is anyone interested, if enough are we will setup a meeting soon.
