UX Strategies: Part Deux - Tips and Techniques for Better UX

Free Networking & Keynote Speech Event

After what only can be described as a whirlwind year for digital, 2014 is set to be an explosive year for innovation and discovery across our industry. The Digital Pond has a series of meetup events planned in 2014 that will inform and inspire designers, developers and marketing professionals alike.

Our first meetup will be on the 6th February in a brand new location in Clerkenwell (click the link above). Following up from the huge success of the User Experience (UX) Strategies meetup in September, we have brought together some of the biggest names in UX and web design to talk about the importance of creating enjoyable environments and journeys online.

We're massively excited to have the brilliant Andy Budd along to join us for the first Digital Pond of the year. Asides from being co-founder at Clearleft, Andy is nothing short of a UX legend, imparting his expertise and experiences at many notable design conferences and events across the globe.

We are super-charged to have confirmed the magnificent Anna Dahlström. Originally from Sweden, Anna started her UX career in Denmark but has called London home for the last 8 years. As a freelance UX designer she's worked with numerous agencies as well as with the BBC on the Olympics. We cannot wait to hear her story!

Last but not least, we are delighted to announce Cyber-Duck’s very own Matt Gibson will be speaking for us. Matt spearheads all design work at Cyber-Duck from the early research and planning stages, to sketching and designing interfaces, right through to helping deliver working code.

NEW Location:

Clerkenwell Centre, London. EC1V 3AR

Schedule:

18:00 - Networking with canapés and free bar

Our guest speakers will take to the floor to share their insights

19:00 - Matt Gibson – Production Director at Cyber-Duck

19:30 - Anna Dahlström – Freelance User Experience Specialist

20:00 - Andy Budd - User Experience Designer and CEO of Clearleft.

20:30 - Dessert, free bar and networking

Who should Attend?

This event is for anyone looking to learn more about usability, user experience (UX) and design. Even if you are not a designer, you will still come away having learned about some of the most important concepts when it comes to web production and project management.

If you are involved in the process of designing, building or conceiving a new web project, you do not want to miss this!

Thanks for traversing the awful weather and the tube strikes everyone - you are the reason that the Digital Pond is awesome.

Here are my slides from last night: http://www.slideshare.net/MattDuck/working-better-with-clients-digital-pond-feb-2014

    Videos will be available soon!

I have seen the talks were being recorded... will they be available somewhere?

Outstanding meeting. Very informative and cool speakers. Met some nice people too. Would love to get a copy of the slides. Looking forward to the next one!

On a side note....were those meatballs really made of meat?

Thanks for the excellent event. As a technical director of my company I found the views from the design side of things very interesting. Andy Bud was opinionated, which is exactly what you want, but wrong on a few points: In the modern world of JavaScript driven websites even the greatest designs will fail if the technology underpinning your website is poor.

Amazing turn out last night, definitely one of the best events we have had to date. Massive thanks to Andy, Anna and Matt, but a special thanks to you all who braved the treacherous travel and weather conditions!

Keep an eye out for the next event, being announced soon!

Despite the weather and the strikes we still had a great event. Fantastic speakers, great turnout, and interesting conversations. Thanks all for playing your part in this growing community.

A little self indulgent of me but why not.... Enjoyed last night, especially Matt Gibson's presentation (right up my alley). To make a long story short - I'm the head of UX at JUST EAT, and I'm looking for great designers and prototypers. We are growing so fast! The kind of kick ass designers I'm looking for at the ones that go to great meet ups like this.... I need a B2C and B2B UX lead, 2 x UX designers and 2x prototypers. If you interested please drop me a line at [masked] with your cv and portfolio :)

Nice one peeps - Fantastic turnout despite the travel chaos. Great speakers too (not too sure I'm a fan of the machine-gun microphone technique tho).

Loved all three presentations, they all covered three different topics and did that in very insightful way. Event in general was very neatly organised and reminded more of a proper conference with a networking element embedded to it rather than a normal meetup. Thumbs up. Will be coming again.
