Responding to the Responsive Web: Insights on Reshaping User Experience

After our rest-filled spring break, the Digital Pond (http://thedigitalpond.com/) is back in action and we are hitting the ground running with our next event. After feedback from many Ponderers we have decided to revisit the theme of responsive web design.

2013 was the Year of Responsive Web Design, according to Mashable. More people than ever are visiting websites from mobile devices—recent estimates say as many as 40%. It’s also easier than ever to accommodate mobile visitors, but how can we go even further and make sure they’re getting the best possible user experience?

At this summer’s edition of the Digital Pond, we’ll hear professionals share their experiences with responsive web design, their knowledge of current best practices, and their predictions for the future. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions of the experts and network with lots of likeminded people.

Jeremy Keith (http://adactio.com/) (@adactio (https://twitter.com/adactio)) lives in Brighton where he serves as Rear Admiral of the Responsive Fleet at design agency Clearleft. He’s the curator of the dConstruct conference as well as Responsive Day Out, and he organised the world’s first Science Hack Day. Jeremy has written three books about JavaScript and HTML5.

Sally Jenkinson (http://www.sallyjenkinson.co.uk/) (@sjenkinson (https://twitter.com/sjenkinson)) is a freelance technical consultant based in Colchester. She has worked with a range of brands and digital agencies on projects for clients including Nokia, Electronic Arts, BT, and UTV. Sally aims to get people talking and thinking about technology in a creative way, and to use it to improve user experiences.
