I have lost tons of weight and getting fit has helped me no end. I am still on my journey to goal but I am ten stone down the road, so feeling pretty chipper. It's been nearly 8 months since I got my first Zumba License and the six week free trial classes are long over. But I feel very passionate about this and the four Gold classes I run continue to be free. I am just about to qualify as a an Exercise to Music instructor which means that 8 months on not only have I led well over a 100 classes and gained great experience through that, but I now know so much more as a fitness professional. We regularly have between 25-40 people turn up to Gold classes - the second Saturday class is relatively quiet, but the people who come are a cross section of the community, all wanting however, to get fit and lose some weight. We have people as young as 16 as well as 70 year olds and everything in between. Plenty of kids accompany their parents and we let them dance a song or two! It is a vibrant class - I am very proud of the progress we have made - it is simply a pleasure to devote my time and efforts to this as I have met some wonderful and inspiring people, that i wouldn't necessarily meet in my usual course of work in education. I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
