Just wanted to let everyone know that Chaya will be bringing confections to sell and also flavor extracts that will be part of the recipe she is sharing.

Also, I may have some items I got from but I'll let you know at the meetup.

I encourage everyone who sees things they can buy in bulk at a discount- to bring them to a meetup

and let others know they are available. As long as you can offer something at a discount- I think everyone would appreciate it.

Here are the details:

During our November extravaganza one of our members sampled one of
Chef Chaya-Ryvka’s desserts and told me there was nothing comparable
anywhere and that we simply must have her give us a class. She has
agreed to do so- again at the low meetup price of $20 per student. She
will be giving an hour and a half class on how to make a chocolate
chocolate hazelnut tarte, a dish which will give us a great array of
skills in dessert-making as well as decoration tips and plating ideas.
The class comes replete with a recipe packet for us as well. I have
since sampled some of her other desserts, including a lemon raspberry
cheesecake, and will have to say- that every one I have tried is
absolutely amazing. Many of you may know her for the cake she made
for Matthew Monarch and Angela Stoke’s wedding. She has recently opened
Living Vision’s desserts to go and you can check out how great her
desserts look there­.

am asking that everyone pay as you RSVP unless you want to mail me a
check, in which case e-mail me and I’ll give you my address. We need at
least 15 people to make this a go.

ALSO Raw Daddy will be back
before the event with his famous cones! That way we can have dinner and
dessert. Raw Daddy's raw cones are a real treat as so many of you know- I
can't wait until the new people get to try them. Last year he won best
of vegetarian restaurants- in Bay Area (SF GATE) and his cones are all
raw! Check out the cones he will be serving here­ Raw Daddy sells his cones for $5 a piece. He may also have some drinks- I'll update you as we get closer. You can find him also at the Temescal Farmer's market Sundays 9:00am to 1:00pm

We will open the doors at 6:15 p.m. so that people can get Raw Daddy's cones and then the class will begin at 7 p.m.

is again our host at our downtown venue- and we are all looking forward
to this class! We will not be paying a venue fee for this event;
however, as many who came to the last event know, we will be paying for
the venue this year and are trying to work out how best to do that. I
will update those of you who were unable to attend the last event with
our strategy for doing so 2011.

Chaya-Ryvka, owner of the Living Vision, is a raw food chef, and well
known as a raw food pastry chef. She is a health educator, and promoter
of vibrant health currently located in Northern California. Through food
preparation workshops, classes, consultations and catering Chaya-Ryvka
shares with her clients and audiences a new paradigm of food as ideal
body/mind/spirit fuel, and medicine while providing the nurturing
flavors and textures we have all come to associate with as satisfying
“comfort food”. Her focus on dessert comes from her own love of sweet
treats as well as knowing that an excellent dessert can act as a
“gateway” for people who may be less than excited to start on the path
of healthy eating.

Chaya-Ryvka trained for two years as an
apprentice with Master Raw Food Chef Elaina Love. Together they catered
raw food retreats, served private catered events, taught classes, and
opened a raw food café – Café Soulstice in San Mateo, CA. She also
apprenticed with gourmet raw pastry chefs and creators of the desserts
for the voted #1 raw food restaurant – Café Gratitude. Chaya-Ryvka spent
6 months apprenticing in the art of raw chocolate confections; she
worked in a newly opened raw/vegan chocolate factory, Coracao Confections . After
spending a number of years as a raw pastry chef and recently bakery
supervisor for Café Gratitude, Chaya-Ryvka is now starting up a local
dessert to go service through her company Living Vision. She also offers
catering, classes, and consultations locally and globally.
