RAT (Real Ale Train) - Returning due to popular demand

RETURNING DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND : THE TRAIN NOW DEPARTING..................

The RAT departs Alton station 7.20pm, returning to Alton approx 10.30pm (connects with the 10:44pm South West Trains departure from Alton).

The Real Ale Train continues its tradition of serving real ale from a restored bar carriage pulled by a steam locomotive.

Up to 2 local breweries from Hampshire and the surrounding counties provide ale for each train, such as Bowmans, Itchen Valley, Brewery, Triple fff, Oakleaf, Harveys and more!

Other alcoholic beverages, soft drinks and hot food (burgers, hot dogs, veg.option) are also available to purchase (£3 - £6) on board during your journey.

The price has remained the same as 2012 and payment of £15 covers train fare plus a pint of ale and the Meetup fee of £1 - and is needed up front to ensure booking is confirmed.

Please use Susan's paypal account : [masked] : when sending money, use the "personal" tab, then as a gift.

Contact Susan if you wish to pay cash or cheque.

Meetup Subs of £1.00 apply to this event (included in above charge).

Good fun, even without a steam train, thanks Susan.

Thanks to all of you for making this such a fun evening. Despite the fact that the steam engine was replaced by a diesel engine, we still had a grand evening on the old rolling stock!! Plus, I think we have found ourselves a 'budding train enthusiast'! Kevin, have you applied to become a volunteer yet?!?! That uniform and whistle would certainly suit you!!! :) :)

I'm terribly sorry but I can no longer make this meet-up. If anyone would like to make use of my ticket they are more than welcome!

That's a shame Jonathan, but thanks for letting me know. Another member of the group expressed an interest in the event when I met him last FRI, so if he is able to take yr tckt, I will let you know.

Hi everyone, not sure if you are aware or not, but all steam trains across the UK have been grounded due to the hot weather. It's all to do with the possible risk of track-side fires. Unfortunately, this includes the Watercress Line, hence the RAT tomorrow night will be hauled by a diesel engine and not a steam engine. This is highly disappointing to one and all, but it is totally out of my hands and that of the Watercress Line. However, I'm sure we will still have a grand time. See you tomorrow.

Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Just a further reminder that payment for this event is required by 30JUN latest. If I haven't received yr payment by that date, then I'm afraid I will have to change yr RSVP to No, as I need to make full and final payment to the Watercress Line a month in advance of the event. So far, I have received payments from Barry, Richard, Gary, Steve (3x), Nik and Jonathan. Thank you. If you hv sent me yr payment and I haven't mentioned yr name above, then pls let me know. In the meantime, I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for yr understanding. Payment details are on the event page. Many thx.

    Brgds

Hi Fiona, sorry to say no payment received from you as yet. When did you send it? Not being funny, but did you send it to the correct email address as shown on the event page? Might be an idea to check payment status on yr paypal account. S xx

Have realised I'll still be in Australia. Disappointed, but hopefully there'll be another time.
