Evening Beach Walk

Celebrate "hump day" (getting past the mid-point of the work week) and enjoy a relaxing walk at the beach!

http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/3/1/1/2/event_207792562.jpegThis early evening walk is a great way to socialize while getting some easy exercise at the same time. The western sky remains full of color for some time as the sun sets over the ocean. You might want to bring a camera.

This walk is on paved sidewalk along the sandy shore of the beach. The pace is steady, not a power walk, but not a leisurely stroll, either. The group will walk for one hour and a half or so, covering about 3.5 to 4 or even 5 miles. Jennifer will lead the group.

Dress warmly, as the breeze picks up in the evening, and wear comfortable walking shoes, such as athletic shoes. It might be helpful to carry a water bottle.

Well behaved dogs on leashes are allowed.

PARKING is free in the lots along N. Pacific Avenue just off Warner Avenue. Take Warner Avenue toward the ocean as far as you can go. Just after passing through the intersection with Pacific Coast Highway, turn right onto Pacific Avenue and then left into the parking lot.

MEET near the bus stop on the traffic circle on the beach side where Warner intersects with PCH, just behind the Jack in the Box Restaurant. We will be a small group of walkers standing on the sidewalk just to the side of the bus stop. Please arrive 5 or 10 minutes early, as the walk will start at 6 pm sharp.
