The Gadsden Project is the intersection of ideas and action. We are dedicated to revitalizing the Founders' vision of local, self-government and taking concrete steps to make that vision a reality once again.  At the Gadsden Project we intend to debate this seminal question, "What is the proper role of government in the lives of free people?" That debate will take place in various social, political and economic contexts. And, we intend to put the lessons of those debates into action at a local level. Hence our motto, " Bold Ideas & Local Action".

Our goal is to make this more than a local meet up group.  Sure, we'll get together here in Southwest Florida to pursue local action, but we really want this web site to be a place for on-line education, discussion and growth.  We are striving to create a vibrant incubator for the ideal of individual liberty achieved through self-government in a classic federal system.
