Hi! My name is Janet Lynne Roots. I'm a British novelist, editor and writer's coach, and I firmly believe everybody has at least one good story to tell.
There's just one difference between writers who get published and those who don't: the published ones learned their craft. Writing a novel is more than filling several hundred pages with words. It's about character and comedy, dialogue and description, plotting and pacing, emotions and editing. Most of all it's about creating a little magic in another's life.
My mission in life is to uphold the integrity and beauty of the English language through the art of fiction. My hope is that this group will inspire YOU to become a storytelling "missionary," too.
Each week I'll be explaining the essential techniques of writing great fiction; we'll also hear from group members about their story ideas, give suggestions, read each other's work, and generally be there for each other 150%.
Don't be shy - this group is for writers of all experience levels. It's fun and low-pressure. Your novel may be a mystery, romance or memoir. Once we talk, it may become something else altogether, but if you don't come, you won't know how good a writer you could have been...
