VOCATION - Finding Your Voice
Details
Each of us as a vocation - several actually. We may or may not be able to make a living through them. This conversation will be about how we discover, develop, and live out our vocations, and how they may change and grow over time. We will also explore how we harmonize them with one another so that we live a synchronous life.
Fredrick Buechner defined vocation as “the place where your deep gladness meets the world’s great need.” Vocation is rooted in the Latin word vox, which means voice.
My definition? Our vocation is, quite literally: "The voice with which our lives speak things into existence in the world."
Our vocations are the ways we manifest good and life-giving energy that creates tangible (though not always physical) results. They are expressed through our relationships, our hobbies and interests, and yes, sometimes even our careers and occupations.
This meet up is open to people of any faith or no faith at all. All are welcome. All have a voice that is seeking expression in the world. To find and live your vocations is among the most important pursuits in life.

Rev. Dr. Ken G. Crawford works as a leadership and life coach, a spiritual director and a pastoral counselor. These disciplines combine to provide a holistic view of work and how it intersects our personal, private and public lives. Ken's favorite work task is helping people hear the possibilities in their own stories and see how they are already living the seeds of their potential.
Rev. Justin Hancock is a pastor and theologian working in the area of disability, faith and vocation. Justin celebrates human embodiment and the potential for each of us to find our voice and create something good in the world with our lives. Justin understands his cerebral palsy as an expression of God's creativity and love of diversity, not as a defect to be overcome.
