A drinking club with a book problem :-)

Our Bookcrossing meeting is a social book swap - bring books, meet people, drink, eat and take new books home. And learn about Bookcrossing; over five million books floating around the world looking for readers.

PLEASE FIRST go to www.bookcrossing.com and register yourself for free. Then find approx 3 books you want to pass on, register those on the BC site, label them up and bring them to the meetup. Everyone brings books and everyone gets to take home new books.

(Don't worry about that, if this is your first time)

bookcrossing
n. the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise.

(added to the Concise Oxford English Dictionary in August 2004)

Want to attend?

We have a stylish venue, books, beer and great food. The White Horse is at the bottom of Pond Street, on the corner of Constantine and Fleet Roads. So please come along and don't forget all those books that need releasing.

DON'T forget to register at www.bookcrossing.com and bring a few books to swap. Any books will do and don't worry if you forget, just bring some the next time.

What members are saying

You should join this group if you want to meet nice people who like reading. Reading is often a very solitary past time and so its nice to be able to make it into a social event. ...

Judy

It's friendly, laidback, general good vibe. And lots of lovely luscious books...

“Have been a sporadic bookcrosser over the years. Have a vast amount of read books piling up on bookshelf - some will go to Oxfam, some to BC. Like the idea of circulating books.”
