About us
We originally started in the Baltimore area, but since we've been meeting online we also have some members from outside the area.
We're about the Arts and Sciences, including the human sciences.
We have informal presentations and discussions on various subjects related to human values, such as: aspects of society; social evolution; science and technology; the arts and society; current events; history; nature and evolution; ethics; futurism; philosophy; etc.
.
We welcome a diversity of views, for open-minded discussion, where we can learn from each other.
The link will be sent out about 11:15 to everyone who RSVPd for that event. If you don't see the link in your inbox by 11:30 that day, send a note directly to the organizer:

That way your message will go directly to the organizer's email inbox.

Human Values Meetup - online
·OnlineOnlineOur next Meetup, on the fourth Sunday of the month as usual, will be online.
The topic will be: "Medicine, Profit, and Bureaucracy - the Case of
Dialysis" The kidney was the first human organ to be successfully replaced with a machine. But huge dialysis corporations, ambitious entrepreneurs, and Beltway lobbyists soon turned this medical breakthrough into a complex situation involving for-profit medicine, inequality, and government bureaucracy. The complications may give us lessons for handling other situations. Bill Creasy will introduce the topic, followed by open discussion.
.
You can participate either by webcam or telephone. The link will be sent that morning to anyone who has RSVPd. We'll also check for RSVPs by 11:30 am that day.We recommend that you RSVP from the Events page:
