Critique Meeting : 1500 words or less

Well my search for a new location was fruitless for lots of reasons which I will explain (briefly and only if desired) during the meeting. As a result, we are gathering once again at Panera Bread. This means that some of us will once again face a frustrating quest for nearly mythical parking spaces. I will be using the multi-level parking garage in the back of the mall. To join me, turn right (east) at the northern end of the mall (near the McDonalds) and follow that road around to the parking garage entrance on the right. There is an entrance to the hotel along the south side of that garage and from there, a hotel hallway leads out to the breezeway which runs perpendicular to the front of the mall. Take a right onto the breezeway and another right onto the sidewalk that runs along the front of the mall. Panera Bread is a couple stores north of the breezeway.

This next meeting will be critique circle style meeting with all attendees invited to bring copies of their work to be critiqued.

A survey will be taken at 7:00 of how many authors wish to read. This will determine how long is spent on each reading (including the reading's discussion and/or critique). Times will be enforced with a stopwatch. If you are not there at 7:00, you may not have a chance to read and be critiqued.

With a stopwatch in charge, word limits are less important than they used to be, but you should consider limiting yourself based on attendee count so that there is time for discussion and critique during your allocated time. Assuming that every (non-guest) attendee will want to read, the following guidelines are suggested.

4 or less 3000

5 to 7 1500

8 or more 1000

Please bring printed copies (one for each attendee) of your work. Double spaced is preferable to allow notes to be written. Subject matter is at the author's discretion. Bear in mind, we usually meet in a public place if you wish to read your work aloud.
