Announcing a new Meetup for The Irish / British Genealogy Group!
What: AN IRISH THEMED GENEALOGY MEETUP
When: December 13,[masked]:00 PM
176 Ludlow Street
New York, NY 10002
I'm just back from Ireland where I spent as no doubt you may imagine a few days doing some family research. I visited the National Library of Ireland, National Archives, Royal College of Physicians, National Archives as well as a local city library in Limerick and a few conversations with locals. So I am happy to share my learnings, tips, etc.
More importantly it's time to schedule the next meetup and would love to see you all there. I am proposing the following:
Part I) Tenement Museum, Lower East Side - and a guided tour of the The Moores - an Irish family in America. Tours run each hour starting at 11:45am and can be booked on line (in fact you must book ahead of time). It's a great tour and thought given the Irish element of our meetup group could be a good start to our meetup that will follow. As there is a limit per tour I have allowed for several tour times to go by in case one gets filled up. So either strive for the 11:45am or the 12:45am if you intend to go.
Part II) Meetup at a Cafe - let's meet at 2pm at the Pink Pony Cafe which is located just around the corner from the Museum and is a casual quiet setting. Whether you opt for the Museum visit or not please join in at the cafe. Of course our genealogy catch up will extend to all regions not just Ireland!
Let's catch up on latest updates, would love to raise David's ideas as well as others to ensure our meetups remain of interest, of relevance etc
