The Junction Dec 2011 Wave, call for applications (ends Nov 19th!)

Eden S.
Hey entrepreneurs, friends & key people in the "building stuff" eco-system.

This is a call for applications for the junction Dec11 wave. An opportunity to build startups in a 110% supportive environment. Call ends Nov 19th, so listen up. Easiest way to submit an application is at:

As some of you know, The Junction is an open house for entrepreneurs. Any active entrepreneur (regardless of his/her idea) is welcome to join, be a part of, and work at The Junction. People at the junction enjoy a place to stay and great people to work with. We also give back to the community by having open talks every Thursday – if you haven't been there already, come right in through/

Some of the companies that came out in wave 1 & 2 are Hitpad, Simplee,, RideFrog (all now funded!) and others

We are fortunate to have great people help out spending their time to help out the groups @ the junction with "office hours" where any member can approach them and get help for free. Some of the office hours are focused on UX (Noa Bichovsky, Uri Ar, Eyal Sahar and others), Product (Gil Hirsch of, Jay Maydad of Hitpad), marketing (Orli Yakuel) and presentations (thanks Donna Abraham!). Many entrepreneurs that are visiting Israel drop by and help out like Gil Ben Artzy (of Upwest labs), Eran Shir (sold Dapper to Yahoo) and Brenden Mulligan (serial entrepreneur) & Elle (IDEO).

Most recently we had David Lawee (head of M&A for google) drop by and have a heart-to-heart conversation with junction members and alumni, no twitting allowed :-)

The image is of wave 1, who finished their 3 month period at the end of May. What they taught us is that cross pollination is just part of the deal. The real benefit is building an alumni network. All of them are available, take any call and help out the next waves, who in turn, help the ones after that. That's an awesome thing to be part of.

We are constantly learning. Our next big thing is demo day, which we organize for the first time in wave 3. This is coming up in the next few weeks, where we will let the members & alumni to present to a group of great angel investors. This is a great way to sync everyone and drive them towards getting a demo. Not a powerpoint, not a prezi. A demo.

Who should join the junction? Great people that like helping each other out. Startups where these 3 months can help them catapult forward. What we learned is that a combination of veterans and first timerscreates the best environment for everyone to do the kwisatz haderach (isn't it cool the origins for a term in Dune is hebrew?).

Now would be the time for you to apply yourself (even if you are on the wait list – please reapply) or forward the email to your rockstar friends, or simply people you know have been working on a concept but need that extra push to make it a reality. They will thank you :-)

Have a great week!

Eden & the junction team.
