LEGup Christmas meetup: subject specific games (and drinks and prizes)
Details
Line-up announced!
Come along for talks, competitions and prizes (and then drinks) at our Christmas LEGup event. We have three great speakers confirmed:
• Drew Buddie (@digitalmaverick (https://twitter.com/digitalmaverick)) is a Learning Technologist, Vice Chair of Naace and Head of ICT. He will be talking about how subject specific games are and can be used in the classroom
• Herb Liu is a producer at Bossa Studios (http://www.bossastudios.com/) and ex-teacher. He'll be telling us about two of their games: Twelve a Dozen, a maths game, and Twisted Manor, an adventure game for vocabulary learning.
• Phil Stuart, creative director of Preloaded (http://preloaded.com/), will be talking about Crafty Cut, a game which allows the player to explore the relationship between 2D and 3D objects and which they developed for Amplify in the states.
We'll also be playing some mini games for prizes along the way, including a copy of the brilliant soon to be released illustrated Cat On Yer Head (http://www.catonyerhead.com) (which you may remember from our 3rd birthday party), Learning Re-imagined and more. If you have any prizes you'd like to donate or sponsor (or can help sponsor drinks), please get in touch.
Thanks to everyone else who got in touch about speaking, sorry we couldn't fit you all in!
