MySQL London UG Meeting

Hi,

On Thursday 23rd of May Monty Widenius - creator of MySQL - will be in London.

Monty has kindly accepted to stay overnight and participate to our meetup. I think this is the perfect time to review the latest announcements and the material available from the Percona Live in Santa Clara.

Thanks to our good old friend Mark Baker, we will be guest at Canonical - see address above. There will be an Openstack meetup at the very same time, we can share more informal info between the two groups!

It's going to be a great event for our new MySQL UG!

Agenda:

• Special Guests: David Axmark and Monty Widenius (founders and creators of MySQL) - why MySQL, why MariaDB - open session with Q&A
• MySQL in the cloud - experiences, some tips & tricks, recommendations, options available (please consider there will be an Openstack meetup at the same time, in a different room, we will network with other people during the pizza & beer time)
• Intro to Galera - Synchronous, all-active replication. Alexey Yurchenko, one of the core developers of Galera, will present.
• Other war stories, presentations from the attendees - please let me know if you want to talk/ask questions etc.
