ACTION VEOLIA
Where: Outside The Natural History Museum
Time: 12 pm - 2 pm
Please support this protest by coming along even if you can only manage a half hour :-
Veolia is a French multinational- engaged in waste disposal and transportation- which is directly profiting from Israel's illegal occupation in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
The company's involvement is aiding Israel's grave breaches of humanitarian and international law has been extensively documented and researched.
Veolia is a key target of the global Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement. The company has been failing to win contracts worth many hundreds of millions of pounds because of the determined campaigns and efforts of BDS activists.
Veolia is the official corporate sponsor of the prestigious 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' exhibition at the Natural History Museum which runs from October 22 to February. Thousands of people pay to see the exhibition but very few will be aware of Veolia and its activities.
The idea is to talk to the public and inform them about Veolia. Many people will have travelled a long way to visit the exhibition and a good number will have bought their tickets in advance, so we could ask as exhibition visitors to fill in the museum feedback forms with comments objecting to Veolia's sponsorship. This is likely to have a big impact as the forms would be from 'paying customers'.
There will be lots of A6 printed postcards available to hand to the public setting out the case against Veolia If people want to produce further materials then they should feel free to do so.
