This group is for anyone and everyone who loves to meet and socialise, write and read aloud whilst being creative and having fun.

This group is for you if you miss the Warhol factory-esque-type creative buzz that the recession seems to have snuffed out of the London scene a bit.

We're reviving that vibe through a series of creative and sociable events at various hip and happening venues and gigs round London. So come along and express yourself!

I am a speaker, novelist, teacher and writer with a book deal with a major publisher this year. You can read about my rocky road to publication here http://thefantasynovelist.wordpress.com/

By workshopping my writing along with other writers and creative-minded types in informal writing groups, we as a group honed, revised and improved our work to publishing standard - all whilst having a fantastic time and getting to know new people over a few drinks.

This group is about building on that ideal! Join us if you like to be sociable, learn new things, have fun and gain in confidence whilst being creative, or you simply like to observe the process in the company of a group of inspiring people with loads in common.

And from a social perspective, the best thing about having loads in common: it cuts out the dreaded small talk! *Shudder*

FAQ: The group is a no-pressure environment, and members are encouraged to participate only to the level they are comfortable with. Many of the events do have a "talk show host" feel about them, so you may be asked amusing questions as part of the environment we create. But this is all part of the fun and getting to know and support other members etc.

Remember: The interactive aspect of our events is precisely what makes our group different! I personally didn't find the never-ending dry reading/listening formats I encountered in some groups particularly useful when I was struggling to "break through"; I needed to PARTICIPATE! Horses for courses (of course!), but that gives you an idea of what we are aiming for.

There will of course be more structured events/lectures with various invited guests etc and each event will be clearly described on the site.

Cost: It’s free to join, but we charge a nominal £2-4 to attend most meetings. For special events ticket prices may vary and this helps us continue to run the group, gauge numbers etc, but details will always be clearly advertised on the site.
