Howltober Meeting

check in by 9:45am

Start reading at 10am

Lunch following meeting at Mussel and Burger 9200 Taylorsville Rd, Louisville, KY 40299

Please send a writing sample to Dave before you become a member and absolutely before you RSVP for your first meeting. Message me and I will give you my email address. We ask you attend one meeting before you share your writing at a meeting. For new members there is a $10 yearly fee due your 2nd meeting and current members the first meeting of the year. Yearly mem. fees offset Meetup fees. If anyone is late to a meeting I will ask you to donate $2 to the popcorn/Crunch and Munch fund. Remember to change your RSVP status if you can't attend. Often we have a waiting list. The system will automatically move you to 'attending' and email you when someone changes their RSVP. Please check back on the site in case the site doesn't send out a notification.  If you no-show for a meeting you will need to rejoin as a member and skip the next meeting. You can also email me or another organizer with questions. We try not to go beyond 1pm. Please no guests to the meeting.

I will be there by 9:44:59am, with about 3,000 hot, pepper-infused, masala-coated, sauce-bathed, flavor-drenched words of my sequel.

There's a lot of clever stuff here, but my favorite is Kay's last comment. I'd like it twice if I could.

I've missed much recently! You guys are outta control.

      October 19, 2013

  • Mike W.

I'll be there by 17:40 Moscow time, with approximately √(196³) words.

    October 16, 2013

    • Mike W.

Change in plans. I'll be there but with zero words this time. ( and no math to deal with either. ). ;)

      October 17, 2013

    • Navin

What happened to those approximately √(196³) words, Mike?

  • Chris R.

Have an unexpected trip to CA so I have to cancel. Have a great meeting and I hope to see you in November. Happy writing!

    October 18, 2013

  • Erv K.

Be there with about 2000 words. Looks like we'll be busy.

    October 17, 2013

  • Kelly

    I'll be there with writing.

    2 · October 17, 2013

    • Mike W.

Kelly takes the high road and simply states her intentions for the meeting, without resorting to mindless prattle.

      October 17, 2013

    • Kelly

Mike, I simply have no mindless prattle left. It's been wasted at work.

Confirming. Word count TBD and unaffected by physics.

    2 · October 16, 2013

  • Christy N.

I plan to attend with writing.

    4 · October 9, 2013

  • Amanda Hillard B.

I shall be there with writing (2,000 words at most) AND a little random, somewhat annoying commentary.

    2 · October 14, 2013

  • Lena

I plan to attend and bring approximately 3,000 words if they don't run away from me between now and then.

    1 · October 13, 2013

    • Kay C.

Have you considered an electric fence?

      1 · October 14, 2013

    • Lena

No, I count on my gravitational pull. If it fails, I will increase curvature of space-time. (http://www.livescienc...)

      October 14, 2013

  • Greg B.

Will be there, approximately 2,000 words.

    3 · October 11, 2013

  • Jaime J.

I'll be there with words... Maybe 3k of them, or perhaps less.

    1 · October 11, 2013

  • Kay C.

Did I mention that I was bringing writing? Because I totally am.

Is that you cameoing as "The Outlaw Biker"? November's very soon. Congratulations again!

      October 7, 2013

    • Mike W.

Ha! No, they're all stock photos. But I was a scooter jockey once, although not the outlaw kind. :)

      October 7, 2013

  • Navin

The Pepper Man is back and ready to flex some writing mussels.

One more time. What's wrong with, "The October meeting of the Stuffed Owls writers' group"?

      October 4, 2013

    • Mike W.

Erv, I think it's the difference between "It's a really good meeting" and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious."

      2 · October 4, 2013

  • Jaime J.

    Dubbing this meeting "Owl-tober." (:

    1 · September 29, 2013

    • Navin

Dubbing it "Howl-tober" to incorporate "owl" and a reference to Halloween. :)

      1 · September 30, 2013

    • Dave

Good one! I changed it again.

      1 · October 4, 2013

  • Mike W.

I will be bringing a couple of principal chapters of "Ghost" -- about 2500 words. If anyone is interested in critiquing the entire draft (58,300 words) I would welcome your comments. Let me know and I'll email it to you.
