“Valentine’s/Milestone” Raw Dining on Tuesday, February 9 at the Green Owl Cafe!

Everyone!

After one year of being together as a community and much discussion of having a raw dining option in Madison it is finally here - this will be our first official “Non-Potluck” group gathering!

For this Madison Raw Community event we will be dining out together at The Green Owl Cafe to celebrate several things this Valentine’s Season:

First, our community will be celebrating the milestone of its first year of loving raw togetherness in February.

Second, we will celebrate the milestone of the arrival of scheduled raw dining in Madison at The Green Owl - Jennie Capellaro has informed me that she intends to offer a raw menu the second Tuesday of every month - and we can show some raw love for their efforts for our community.

Here are the two main course items that will be offered:

• the first will be a raw "taco" plate consisting of romaine lettuce wraps with a seasoned carrot taco filling, served with housemade guacamole, fresh salsa, lettuce and onion and a lime-cilantro cauliflower "rice" ($14.00)

• the second will be flax crackers and vegetables served with 2 raw spreads: a macadamia "cheese" spread and a sun-dried tomato & almond spread ($8.00)

There will also be a raw dessert, but the exact details are not yet available at this time but will be posted when they become available. The price for the dessert will be $6.50.

Also, please keep that in mind that the Green Owl automatically adds an 18% gratuity to all checks for groups of our size.

Please RSVP as you normally would via this Meetup description and this will serve as a sort of dinner reservation. I would ask that everyone be very conscientious about their RSVP'ing. If you have planned to come but find that you won't be able to join us after all, please update your RSVP accordingly as soon as possible. Also, in the comment section of your RSVP, please indicate which of the entrees choices you plan on ordering (the tacos or the crackers & spreads - and if you plan on ordering dessert). This will be very important so that we can give The Green Owl a good estimate as to how many people to expect which will then allow them to do their purchasing and preparation in advance in accordance with this estimate. The Green Owl will be setting tables aside for our group in the back of the restaurant and would like to be able to plan for this as well.

Their regular menu, of course, will be available too for anyone who wants to bring anyone whose tastes might not necessarily be along the raw lines.

While the address is listed officially as 1970 Atwood Avenue at Schenk’s Corners in their information, The Green Owl is next to The Alchemy on Winnebago, kind of across the way from Tex Tubb's - just look for the Green Owl.

There is plenty of street parking in the neighborhood, some metered, some not.
