Some background to WSUD
Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) is about integration of water cycle management into urban planning and design.
WSUD can be undertaken on small scale (single house lot) to precinct scale (20 dwellings) to large scale up to whole suburbs (up to 5000 households)
The key principles of Water Sensitive Urban Design are:
-Protect natural systems.
-Integrate storm water treatment into the landscape
-Protect water quality
-Reduce runoff and peak flows.
-Add value while minimising development costs
Tea, coffee and nibbles will be provided
Our group was established for those concerned about the state of our environment (both local & global), where it's heading and what can be done to halt the environmental degradation caused by Global Warming & Climate Change.
A great way for 'like minded' people to network over drinks & meals & other events with those of similar green & sustainable interests and concerns.
A way to make new friends with similar interests & concerns... we may even be able to make a difference!
And remember...any member can organise an activity, so if you have an idea and what you want to do isn't happening here, then make it so.
