To all global coolers Matthew will be presenting a free 90+ minute talk on water sensitive urban design (WSUD). Printed notes and illustrations will be provided together with multi media presentation. Aim will be to provide members with a better understanding including some technical aspects of WSUD. Presentation will be such that members with little or no technical background will be able to understand and widen their knowledge. LIMIT of 20 PLACES and 8 places have been booked in only 2 days. Some background to WSUD Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) is about integration of water cycle management into urban planning and design. WSUD can be undertaken on small scale (single house lot) to precinct scale (20 dwellings) to large scale up to whole suburbs (up to 5000 households) The key principles of Water Sensitive Urban Design are: -Protect natural systems. -Integrate storm water treatment into the landscape -Protect water quality -Reduce runoff and peak flows. -Add value while minimising development costs Tea, coffee and nibbles will be provided
