Silence has fallen upon the land. No voices are heard from the Heavens anymore and the worlds religions have become less meaningful to the populous. While some cling to the old ways, others revel in the silence from the Gods and the power that it has given them. Others still believe that the Gods are dead, or even that they never existed. It has bee nearly 200 years after all, and there are athiest Clerics with magic.
You find yourself more concerned with your day to day needs than you do with the great beyond though, and right now its time to focus on that one need that everyone needs. Gold. So you head to Blackreach in hopes that the adventures guild might be able to help you get some spare coin. If only things were ever that simple though right?
--------We already had the first game, this is what happened.---------
After going to Blackreach, a Cleric asked you to go on a quest to find four items. A Journal written by a priest of a certain God(dess) whose name evades you, a double bladed sword with a fireball pattern on the hilt, A set of brass binoculars, and a puzzle box.
After traveling a few days you all meet up at the cave entrance and met Crag the Fiendish .... something. A shady figure of some kind who drops off shipments of "food" at the cave. After camping out to avoid the evil giggling in the woods and the hoards of spiders, you return the next morning to find that some things just can't be avoided.
As our smelly little Dwarf friend set fire to the webs, bodies fell about the room, revealing that the cocooned shells held beings that were not entirely dead.
Finally they entered the cave and found a strange voice in the halls that gave you a lot of useful information. Will it help in the end though?
