Subject: [The-Chicago-Magento-User-Group] A good start
Big thanks to everyone who attended our kick-off meeting last night. Especially Koby Oz, for flying in from LA to deliver his exciting update. Four to five thousand downloads per week? Who knew?
Last night was a good start.
But here's our challenge: Meeting the needs of both Magento developers AND users moving forward. We know there's huge value in getting everybody talking, but these two groups have distinctly different educational needs and what's the point of a meetup if you don't come away with new ideas and information?
I think Ray Mayfield said it best in the comment he posted, "Two groups that come together as one." The plan is to format the meeting with two separate educational tracks with time for sharing/networking between the groups as well. Make sense?
So the big decision now - and this involves all of you - is how often should we meet?
There's a new poll posted to get your feedback. As soon as we have a decision we'll set the next meeting date. In the mean time, if you have questions or ideas or feedback, please share.
Thanks again for participating last night; I am so excited to be involved with this group and looking forward to meeting again soon.
