This is a group for people in Middle Tennessee, southern Kentucky, and northern Alabama who are interested in skeptical topics. Typical topics addressed by skepticism range from claims about UFOs, Bigfoot and other legendary creatures, faith healing and other unproven / unscientific health claims, religious "miracles", ESP, psychics, and similar topics.

Goals of the group will include sharing information about and discussing topics that are relevant to skepticism. We can do this in two ways: by posting to the list and by getting together in person to actually meet and get to know other like-minded people.

We also welcome people who want to learn about skepticism, including those who are "believers" in any of the above-mentioned (or other) pseudo-scientific topics who genuinely want to hear "the other side of the story". Our goal should not be to insult and abuse people who don't see things the way we do, but to use reasoned and polite discourse to inform and persuade them. We expect the same from them in return.
