Windows Azure Local Success Stories
Details
Want to have “ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources (e.g., networks, servers, storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction”?
The above definition of Cloud Computing is from the National Institute of Standards seminal white paper on Cloud Computing. (See http://csrc.nist.gov/publications/nistpubs/800-145/SP800-145.pdf )
Come join us on July 10th to hear how Windows Azure has helped your peers achieve those results right here in Nashville. At this meeting there will be several short discussions by local companies who have recent experience using Windows Azure.
The Discussion Panel will consist of:
- Michael Atkins (Chief Enterprise Architect) from Walgreens/Take Care Health; who will talk about using Windows Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) to reduce the processing time of database loads in a NoSQL CouchDB and Node.js based healthcare application.
- Vishnu Kumar Tiwari (Windows Azure Insider, BizTalk MVP and Consultant) from HCA will discuss: extending a Windows HPC cluster to include Windows Azure components to increase the capacity of an on-premises cluster on-demand.
- Hitesh Dhingra (Manager Integration - Business Performance Group) from HCA will discuss the basic use of Windows Azure Storage features such as Blobs, Drives, Tables and Queues. This topic will also be continued at next month’s meeting.
The meeting will be held on July 10th, 2013 at Vaco, 5410 Maryland Way, Suite 110, Brentwood, TN starting at 6:00 PM. To register for the meeting and/or to sign up for future meeting announcements please visit: https://www.meetup.com/The-Nashville-Windows-Azure-Users-Group/ .
At the meeting we will also raffle off some books, hardware and other items contributed to us by our sponsors. Every attendee will also get a free one-month subscription pass to Pluralsight’s excellent On-Line Technical Training Library. (While our supply of the passes lasts).
