What we’re about
The North Beach Happy Hours and Social Group is for people who enjoy spending time and socializing in North Beach. North Beach is one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in SF with a high concentration of bars, restaurants, cafes, galleries, clubs, parks and more! We plan to organize events for happy hours, dinner, live music, festivals, gallery parties, pool tournaments, santa-con, karaoke, pub crawl, art-walk, special events with local businesses and more. So, if you enjoy eating, drinking, browsing and generally enjoying all the fun things that happen in and around North Beach, then this is the group for you! Join us at our events, meet new people and have fun together in North Beach! Please note: This group is not a singles-only meet-up, nor is it only for people who live around North Beach, it is for everyone who enjoys life in the North Beach area! House Rules: We are not bothered about no-shows at large, free events. If you RSVP but then cant make it in the end, no problem these things happen. BUT: If you RSVP for small events with limited spaces and do not attend, you will be subject to removal from group. Some events will involve a nominal fee ($1-5) to help with any costs for event arrangement.

MEETING POINT: Meet *OUTSIDE* 498 Broadway St (on the NORTHEAST CORNER of Broadway & Kearny St). Look for the pink "Meeting Point" Sign. We do NOT stay here or go inside - it is only a check in point. At 8:45PM SHARP, we will leave for the first stop. You *must* check in between 8:30PM and 8:45PM if you are planning to attend - please do not try and join us mid-way into the event as you will be turned away.We will be joining my other meetup group and also will be picking up groups of backpackers from local hostels - here is the main event link: https://www.meetup.com/SanFranciscoHostel/events/252772443/
The event is run by volunteers at hostels in SF so that there's a place for backpackers and locals to meet each other. We always get a bunch of travelers from all over the city along with locals. (And there's usually a very international group - travelers from France, Germany, Spain, etc).

Rock Paper Scissors Tournament & Happy Hour Hop! Wednesdays!
We do a weekly rock-paper-scissors tournament & happy hour hop on Wednesdays. Everyone competes while moving from place-to-place so that it's easy to meet new people. Winner of the Rock Paper Scissors tournament gets a prize. We usually get about 40-50 backpackers who are staying at hostels around the city.
--> Compete in Rock Paper Scissors tournament qualifying rounds while moving from place to place. Meet new people while earning points to compete in the finals at the last stop.
--> Top players from qualifying rounds plus several wild card players compete at the final stop. Rock Paper Scissors Tournament champion receives a prize!Meet & compete against international travelers, locals, au pairs and expats. Come join the fun, have some cheap food/drinks, and make some new international friends for the night.
