All members of the Oakland, San Francisco, Concord, & San Jose Italian Language Meet Up Groups are welcome to join us for a fun-filled afternoon of bocce ball, food, beverages, and Italian conversation in beautiful Beresford Park. Please spread the word within your group, as we would like to have all groups interact at this meet-up.
All Bay-Area Italian Meetup groups will unite for a festa and enjoy a pleasant afternoon of bocce, food, sun, mingling with old friends and meeting new ones. The bocce games are for fun, and will be non-competitive. Everyone is invited to play while having some laughs and some cheers. Bocce ball is an all-ages sport that requires no athleticism. If you have never played, now is the time to learn from your fellow meetup members!
To view an interactive map of the park that shows the precise location of the bocce ball courts, please check out this link: http://www.cityofsanmateo.org/exploreourparks/Parks/BERESFORD/beresford.html
Please bring a dish to share for the picnic pot-luck. If you want to BBQ, you can bring what you want to grill. Keep it simple—please refrain from bringing large pieces of meat such as roasts or whole chickens.
When you RSVP, please note what type of food you plan to bring, so that we don’t have too much of one type of dish. For those of you with available charcoal / coolers / seasoning (salt, pepper, etc.) / BBQ tools (prongs, spatulas, long forks, skewers, etc.), feel free to bring those with you. If you’d like to note them in your RSVP, this would be helpful.
We recommend bringing layered clothing, as the weather is changeable during this time of year as the sun sets earlier. A low back chair or a beach towel to lie or sit on may also be handy if you want to get some sun or mingle around the picnic with your nuovi amici.
We ask everyone who has an interest in carpooling to make arrangements on your group websites. We strongly encourage carpooling for the sake of our climate and energy conservation.
