Eagle Rock Loop via Garapito Trail

The gregarious Dodger Joe will once again lead a hike from his beloved 'Top of Reseda' trailhead, this time to the amazing and scrumptiously beautiful Eagle Rock (pics below), doing a loop that will include the heavily shaded Garapito Trail (and others). It will be getting dark by the end of this hike, so you may want to bring a headlamp or flashlight, though there will also be a bright moon with 84% illumination. Be sure to bring plenty of water (2L recommended), hat, sunscreen, hiking poles if you use them, and a snack or lunch. Sherpas are optional.

Difficulty: Intermediate
Dogs: Only if leashed
Restrooms: No
Water Fountain: No
Parking: Park for free BELOW the yellow stripe for free, above it is paid.
Trail: Excellent single track and fire road
Sunset: 6:35 pm

Known Dangers: Rattlesnakes, slip-'n-fall

Directions: Take the 101 to the Reseda Exit and head south toward the ocean. You'll get to the parking area at/near the end of Reseda. You can park below the yellow stripe in the road for free, or above it for a fee. If you go above the stripe to the paid area, BEWARE when you exit the paid area. If you do not come to a COMPLETE stop, your vehicle will be filmed and you WILL receive a ticket in the mail.
