Beginner Hike on Viewridge Trail

Dodger Joe is doing this hike for those of you who are fairly new to hiking and not yet ready for harder hikes. The location is easy to find and you should enjoy some very nice views on this short trek, and featuring both canyon and ocean views, a small footbridge and an expansive view of Topanga.

Here are the directions, copied from the Calabasas Day Hikers site. You can click the 'Location' word to see a map of the gathering point:

Location (http://mapq.st/pmmkQC): Off of Topanga Blvd. in Topanga Canyon. From Highway 101, drive south on route 27 (Topanga Canyon Blvd.) for 3.7 miles. Turn left on Viewridge Rd. and drive 0.5 miles to the END OF THE ROAD. Park by the signed trail head across from the Viewridge Estates gate. From Pacific Coast Highway, head north on Topanga Canyon Blvd. for 9 miles and turn right on Viewridge and follow above directions.

Dogs: Only if leashed.
Parking: Free on street
Sunset: 5:56 pm

Known Dangers: Slip-'n-fall, rattlesnakes possible if it's a warm day
