Simi Peak from Lindero Canyon Rd

We did a Hump Day Hike from this same trailhead on April 1st and it was VERY popular, and several people expressed an interest in doing a longer hike to Simi Peak from the same starting location. So in my constant striving to satisfy the membership, here you are!
After an initial climb for a "mile...mile and a half" with fabulous views of Oak Park and the 101 below us, we continue on a long flat trail to China Flat, and then over to Simi Peak, the highest point in the Simi Hills. We'll return by the same route and get back to our cars right about when it gets fully dark.
You may need a flashlight or headlamp for the final 20 mins of this hike, or so, depending on the group's pace.

Known Dangers: Rattlesnakes, slip-'n-fall
Directions: Take the 101 to Lindero Canyon Rd, and go north a few miles almost until the end. You can park on Lindero Cyn between King James Court and Wembley Ave, which is where the trail head is.
Our hike difficulty categories:
Beginner: No steep sections. Up to 4 miles in distance and no more than 750' elevation gain.
Intermediate: 4-10 miles, and/or up to 2000' elevation gain.
Advanced: More than 10 miles, and/or more than 2000' elevation gain.
