This hike will start with the Las Llajas trail where we will be experiencing an occasional cluster of oaks and hopefully a nice little creek on the right hand side. When we hit the private property gate, we will head up to the fire road and follow it to the Chumash trail. While we head down the Chumash trail, we will witness interesting rock formations and take in the wonderful views of the city.

With this hike, I am choosing to park at the Chumash Trailhead and hiking down to the Las Llajas trailhead and starting from there. There is better parking at the Chumash Trailhead, and the Las Llajas has some shade which is better during the day rather than the evening. I have not done this loop in 2 years, but I remember it being well maintained and easy to follow.
If anyone on the hike knows where the old mining equipment is along the Las Llajas trail, we may take a small detour.
Directions:
From Highway 118/Simi Valley Freeway in Simi Valley, exit on Yosemite Avenue. Drive 0.4 miles north to Flanagan Drive and turn right. Continue 0.8 miles to the trailhead at the end of the road.
Rain will postpone this hike.
