Let's celebrate Martin Luther King Jr's birthday with this great hike. The trail starts with a somewhat steep and rocky climb up to the beautiful China Flat. China Flat is an open area with clusters of old oak trees. We will continue a mile past China Flat and ascend up Simi Peak and take in the surrounding views. Simi Peak is the highest peak in the Simi Hills at 2,403 feet. We will return back to our cars the way we came.

Directions:
From Highway 101/Ventura Freeway in Westlake, exit on Lindero Canyon Road. Drive 4 miles north and you will see the China Flat Trailhead on the left. It is located between King James Court and Wembly Avenue.
