Thanks everyone for coming along. I just found this write up which has been on the home page of the Guido Fawkes site all day:

For entertainment value excellent, for educational value it needed more meat. After a long day at work,I would be very interested to know the percentageof the audience that want to be entertained as well as the percentage that want to be educated. The third option might be the percentage that want to be educated and entertained.

What a wonderful way to end a hard day's evening! The Scotland independence debate full of tabloid humorous extravaganza sprinkled with solid facts was the event to be at to see the best of British wit in action. The Lansdowne Club with its understated elegance with a WOW factor stimulated conversation .I would also recommend a visit to the newly refurbished ladies powder room which brings you back to the glamour of The Art Deco era.Thank you to all the organisers and to our host The Lansdowne Club.

A great success and huge fun. Congratulations to Marcus & Jonathan for their immaculate organisation and chairing skills. All the speakers were worthwhile and the contributions from the floor excellent.

I have to say I was pro independence before entering the room tonight but Hardeep's closing his arguments with "I don't know, it's a dream" made me reconsider. It's all very romantic but no answers were given to very critical issues, from oil, currency, diplomacy to health services. To say that other countries have done it so let's do it as well and see what happens is a very dangerous move.
One can not jump out off a cliff blindfolded hoping for some kind of divine intervention along the way. Risks have to be extremely well calculated and I am not convinced this is the case here.

Such a great passionate debate! Thank you Marcus and Jonathan for organising it.

Any more questions? I need 4 or 5 good ones up my sleeve...

Will an independent Scotland increase or diminish the gravitational pull of London?

Hello. My question to the panel is regarding the Yes campaign. Given the precedent set by independence and the SNP's confidence in gaining prompt admission into EU as a sovereign nation, should they worry about this success empowering Euro-sceptics in a subsequent UK referendum and making our departure from Europe all the more likely, given how Scots justifiably pride themselves on being more pro-European than the rest of us?
