Meet! with "Soroptimists STOP Trafficking", other community coalitions and individuals who are interested in the fight against Human Trafficking in our local communities in the Upstate and throughout the world.

Discuss! how we can best educate ourselves and others on the issue of women and children sold into the international sex industry.
"Sex trafficking involves the involuntary transport of people, primarily women and girls, for the purpose of sex. These women are someone’s mother, daughter, sister, friend—hidden behind locked doors and pulled shades, forced against their will to engage in sex acts with dozens of men a day. In effect, sex trafficking is a form of modern-day slavery.
Sex trafficking is—and this is an incredible number—a $32 billion dollar global industry. That’s right. $32 billion. Each year, between 600,000 and 800,000 women and girls are forcibly transported into the global commercial sex industry, suffering horrific physical, psychological and sexual abuse." from Sorotimist International of the Americas.

Assist! in bringing awareness through advocacy as an abolitionist in the fight to end this hineous form of modern day slavery against women and children.

Act! by helping to disseminate materials made available for FREE through Rescue & Restore: A Human Trafficking Awareness initiative supported by the US Dept of Health & Human Services'(HHS) Polaris Project which adminsters the National Human Trafficking Resource Center (NHTRC) human trafficking national HOTLINE number:

Donate funds! to organizations such as Soroptimist that work to eradicate trafficking. Your donations make it possible for us to provide grants to help women move from poverty and abuse to empowerment and possibility.

Speak up! Advocate for stronger anti-trafficking laws locally and nationally. Make sure that law enforcement officials in your local community understand that trafficked women and girls are victims, and not perpetrators, of the illegal sex industry.

Sign up with Meetup! and receive details on coalition meetings already happening in the Upstate, and throughout SC.

Those organizations, or individuals, who wish to be coalition partners will help disseminate information and resources to intermediaries and first responders who may come in contact with victims of trafficking to inform them of the services available to victims in their communities.

Helen Keller once said, “Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.” Working together, we can eradicate trafficking in our cities and towns, and truly help women and girls to live their dream by achieving their true potential.
