What we'll be doing
We’ll prepare the gardens by installing stone edging, amending soil and distributing mulch. No prior experience is necessary. FUF will supply tools and guidance. FUF planters are quite knowledgeable and you will have the opportunity to learn lots; just go ahead and ask as the day goes along.
I will be taking public transportation. there's a bunch of ways to get there like market street which has a bunch of trollies that run a block from this site. if you can get to market street, you can get to this site - easy peezy.

What to wear/bring
• Bring water to stay hydrated.
• Bring sunglasses/hat and wear sunblock if the day is sunny.
• Wear work clothes that can get dirty -- your shoes, especially, will be covered in dirt by the end of planting.
• Gloves and other tools will be provided on site but if you have your own pair of garden gloves, bring those instead.
Food
There is no mention of food for this event in the FUF post so i don't know if they'll be providing coffee and pastries in the morning. if they do, great. if they don't, best much a bite before leaving the house. And I'm not sure about lunch either although I have fielded to FUF. Personally, I think it'd be fun if we grab a bite after.
About Freinds of the Urban Forest
Friends of the Urban Forest helps individuals and neighborhood groups plant and care for street trees and sidewalk gardens in San Francisco. This "green infrastructure" improves the city by beautifying neighborhoods, cleaning the air, raising property values and reducing polluted stormwater runoff. Since 1981, FUF has planted more than 48,000 trees, totaling 43% of the city's street tree canopy.
