Do you ever find yourself frustrated writing numerous queries? In this session you'll learn fairly simple methods for writing fast, reliable, and reusable T-SQL code. Find out how you can spend a little bit of time today and how it can save you a lot of time in the future. Eric will also go over methods that can be used to write faster T-SQL including macros, SQL Server templates, dynamic SQL, Excel, and even Notepad. This session is targeted for people who write a lot of T-SQL.

This presentation is demo heavy!

You'll learn:

  • How to write faster T-SQL
  • What macro scripting is all about
  • How simple SQL Server templates are to use
  • How to leverage tools already available to you

Mark, Special thanks for organizing the event and inviting Eric of Esurance to speak. I apologize for leaving early, I was required to rush back to campus office to meet with visit scholars last night.
So, I am still awake. :)!

It would be great, if I could get a copy of Eric's presentation. I was already familiar with the first tools used, based on my experience. Ideally, I would like to see the coverage on SQL Templates. - Email is [masked]

    Thanks again.

    Sincere regards,
    Kenneth Fax

Hi Kenneth, I'll do better than that. I'll get you the slides and template examples from the keynote specifically on templates that I referenced durring my session.

I am working on leveraging the Microsoft BI SQL stack on SharePoint 2013. I think SQL 2012 Reporting servers (SharePoint 2013 PowerView) is a good alternative to Tableau. I think this will be a great data visualization tool that is entirely intergrated with Microsoft Office 2013. I am looking to see who is working with this technology and what challenges each person has faced respectively.
