The Dynamics of Spiritual Change: You Can Take Spiritual Action to Change What's Happening
Peter M. Skaife
From his many years of work with people recovering from traumatic events, in hospitals, and with organizations seeking to change the world, Peter M. Skaife will share his insight about how every person has hidden talents and natural abilities that they can access and utilize to take effective spiritual action. He will emphasize the importance of each person discovering their own ways to take spiritual action to change what's happening in their lives and how to help others.
Peter will also share stories about the dynamics of taking spiritual action in real-life situations. He will share personal stories about his discovery of his shamanic abilities, his work with people recovering from traumatic events, and with people who have learned to deal with their personal dark side and developed a better relationship with their personal monsters.
In his presentation, Peter will discuss several keys to taking effective spiritual action in today's world- including learning to become an authority on who you are (your personal mythology) and opening yourself more fully to your own experience, rather than relying on the advice of experts. He will also talk about the challenges involved in people learning to open themselves to their own experience.
Peter Skaife is a shamanic elder, who during his lifetime has worked with many people who have wanted to learn how to discover their own inner healing abilities. His insights are not merely the results of his extensive training. They arise from his personal experiences. At two years of age, Peter almost drowned in a small lake in Northern California but was revived. At age thirteen, he was hospitalized and told by doctors that he would never survive. At fifty-two, he was severely poisoned when a railroad car full of perticide dumped into the Sacramento RIver near Dunsmuir, CA. By overcoming adversity in his own life, Peter gained the strength and insights to help others.
Peter is the father of seven children (two biological), and enjoys cooking and playing tennis in Rohnert Park, CA. He is the founder of the practice of Qailokiko, and has recently founded The Institute for the Study of Spiritual Violence. In 2003, he authored the book "Welcoming the Help of My Monsters-Opps! and Aha!" published by Heroic Living, Inc.
