If you're interested in Scala, you should not miss this opportunity. On October 19 & 20th, we'll be holding two days of talks, hacking, and un-conference style sessions focused entirely on Scala. Come hear what real users of and contributors to this language have to say and get your questions answered. We welcome seasoned members of the community, newcomers who just want to survey the field, and everyone in between.

You'll get the opportunity to hear top Scala contributor Paul Phillips take a retrospective look at how "we're doing it all wrong," where he'll will perhaps disrupt our view of how we've been approaching our work (or hobby!); hear Evan Chan describe his experiences building highly concurrent, distributed systems in Akka; find out about Twitter's awesome, newly open source Summingbird project from Sam Ritchie; and follow Kelsey Gilmore-Innis as she takes a deep dive into the inner-workings of Scala's ubiquitous for-yield. You can read more about these and all our other great sessions here: http://pnwscala.org/s...

This will be the first Pacific Northwest Scala conference and we want you to come join us. The event will be taking place at Portland's unique Leftbank Annex, located at 101 North Weidler Street (http://pnwscala.org/#.... The registration is only $100, which I'm sure you'll agree is a miniscule fee for a conference of this scope. You can register at http://pnwscala.org/#....

Thanks! We're looking forward to seeing you,

The PNWScala Organizers

Note: you may find this request odd given that its a Scala conference, but many excellent Scala developers also work in dynamic languages and come from a background developing Python and Ruby (as opposed to the stereotype of Scala devs having only a Java background). The conference is not just about the Scala language but is covering Functional Programming in general, and overall should be of interest to a wide variety of developers.
