HTML 5 is the newest specification for HTML--a leap forward into the future which allows us, web techies, to develop websites packed with rich features. It provides real time experience - not just on websites but also on desktops, smartphones, and tablets. TVs are not far away from using HTML 5.

Dale Sande
Our very own fellow Web Techie Dale Sande will talk to us about about the fundamental building blocks of the language. Dale began his career as a print designer. Seeing the possibilities before him, he started to design for the web in the mid 90s. Self taught, he began developing websites and in early 2001 and was a founding member of an Enterprise CMS start-up as lead-designer and UIE. Dale is currently working for Getty Images as a UIE and Presentation Layer Developer with .NET and Ruby teams.

Peter Moskovits
Peter is a Developer Advocate for Kaazing, a software company enhancing the way business and customers communicate across the Web using the new HTML5 WebSocket standard. Peter works closely with the developer community to architect and deploy the best possible web communication solutions. Before joining Kaazing, in various product management leadership roles Peter was responsible for Oracle's portal product strategy.
Peter is the co-author of the Oracle WebCenter 11g Handbook and is a frequent speaker at conferences and industry events, such as JavaOne, Oracle OpenWorld, and various user group meetings.
