This will be a small group focusing on mobile applications for Pubic Safety staff. Discuss how the new mobile devices can be used by Law Enforcement and other emergency responders.

We have a couple visitors coming from Yakima who are hoping to meet with programmers who may be interested in exploring opportunities for collaboration, or joining their team, which is focusing on this specific topic of Public Safety applications. They hope to meet developers with “at least 6 months experience developing for iOS. Preferably people with a few deployed apps under their belts, the more complex the better. Any one with experience with the enterprise dev program and/or connecting to .net based web services would be perfect. “

iOS application architecture. Discuss and review:

  • Ways to separate the components of applications into separate views.

  • Experiences in connecting to web services, preferable focused around
    .net/WCF web services

  • Encryption API/methods.

  • Best practices for data model design and services layer access code.

  • Enterprise Developer program experiences

  • Apple SDK for Enterprise Development

  • Experiences in Apple Developer Registration for enterprise development

  • Updating devices in the enterprise

  • Applicability of in-app purchases or upgrades

The meeting will start at 6:15 and end at 9 PM. Please be on-time.

Our host and sponsor, FiberCloud, is providing their conference room and will be giving a tour of their facility providing three floors of servers. It is a very impressive tour. You will learn about how FiberCloud delivers their solutions. Please arrive by 6:15, at the latest.

As always, there will be time for networking and discussion of what you currently need to support your own project.
