SHE CAN SHOOT© has become the largest firearms female only group on the East Coast. Currently, we have chapters in Fredericksburg, Northern Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.  In the next few months a chapter will be in the VA Hampton Roads area.

SHE CAN SHOOT© is a group committed to offering support to women who are interested in developing or enhancing their shooting proficiency as well as self-defense skills without feeling intimidated and being judged.  We are also a group of women who enjoy getting together with other females who share the same interests.  There is no fee to join our group and NO experience is necessary!

Look no further, we have all of your firearms and self defense training needs under one roof. Not only do we focus on firearms training, we also train in other areas of self defense and tactical shooting.  Our goal is to educate and arm each other on the dangers of stalking, date rape, domestic abuse, and other violence that targets us as women.  Our social meetups are a great experience for you to bond with other outgoing women who strive in becoming more confident.  No experience is necessary, and owning a firearm is not required.

SHE CAN SHOOT© offers consultation services to those who are interested in purchasing a firearm but feel overwhelmed and confused.  We can take the confusion out of the process as well as provide you with our professional federal firearms licensed dealers who offer nothing but patience and information.  These dealers also offer discounted prices to our clients.  Our classes can also be provided within your home before scheduling a flexible appointment at the shooting range. 

Are you thinking outside of the box when planning an event?  How about leaving an exciting and lasting memory by having a shooting range party?  Whether it is a bah mitzvah, bachorlette party or birthday party; let us plan the event.  

SHE CAN SHOOT© welcomes women of all ages, color, sexual orientation, religion, culture, and with all political views. We believe that every woman brings to our group experience and talent.  Feel free to offer suggestions and ideas.  I think that it is important to mention that upon request, we can even make available shooting clinics and lectures to those whose professions require them to work hours that are outside of the 9-5 hours.  Childcare is also available upon request!

Aside from meetups that consist of shooting and self-defense, SHE CAN SHOOT© is also empowered by guest speakers that educate us on subjects involving domestic violence, stalking, human and sex trafficking, child exploitation, date rape, and recent crime reports provided by law enforcement that occur in our community.

      Hi Melanie! The intro class is mostly for those who aren't quite ready yet to go to the range following a class. It is more like baby steps. The Basic Pistol is more extensive and does include time on the shooting range. The Basic Pistol is for any experience level including those with none. It just depends if you want a 2 hour class vs. a 6 hour class.......

      If you Google Krav Maga there are a hosts of sites that indicate it is an Israeli form of self-defense. I cut and pasted some information for you as well as others to see:

      Basic principles
      A key principle of Krav Maga is finishing a fight as quickly as possible and therefore all attacks are aimed towards the most vulnerable parts of the body (e.g., face, neck, groin, knee, etc.). It is also to create distance in order to get out of the situation.
