Developer Experiences Building a Windows 8 Tablet App with HTML5/CSS3 IE10

Details

Are you hearing hoof steps of the Windows 8 stampede coming? If not, you will be so now is the time to get on board (or at least learn what you are I for). Microsoft has not been furiously working (very quietly and behind the scenes) on the next generation Windows that has both perfect compatibility to Windows 7 apps, as well as a completely new environment aimed at mobile touch applications (Tablets and phones).

This Meetup will start with an Introduction of the new Windows Programming environment for Windows 8 Metro (short), then 20 minutes or so of a demonstration of the process (and pains) of building an application for the Windows 8 App Store contest that allows for selection by State of US Congress Members. Built using HTML5 Canvas to display the states of our union along with event triggered by touching any state, building the app was an interesting experience I’m looking forward to sharing. After my presentation, we will open up to an extended Questions and Answers.

Come to ask questions, come to answers questions.
