We’re starting the new year with our first look at Denali, the next version of SQL Server. Denali is now available as a Community Technology Preview, and I'm sure a few of you have started digging into the new features.
Under the hood of Denali, you can expect to find several new features, including new column-store database technology meant to enhance query performance and a new high-availability feature called SQL Server AlwaysOn.

Prakash Heda leads SQL DBA team at Intuit. His expertise includes Performance Tuning and troubleshooting, high availability, SAN configuration and windows administration. He has 10+ years of experience managing enterprise-wide data needs in both high volume transactional and data warehouse environments. Prakash holds certifications for MCDBA and MCTIP. His background includes development in VB and ASP; SSIS; data warehouse development using SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008 R2.
