This is a group for people and their guests 18 years of age and over interested in Alabama's Wilderness Areas. From October 1, 2013 through May 31, 2014, Wild South will lead hikes in the Sipsey Wilderness almost every weekend, as a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Wilderness Act of 1964, which established the National Wilderness Preservation System. 2014 is also the 40th anniversary of the Eastern Wilderness Act, which designated the Sipsey Wilderness.
