In honor of National Stationery Week, we're sending mail! Not just any kind of mail, friends, we're sending happy mail!
Most of us joined this group because we love good old-fashioned mail. But what if you don't have anyone to write, or writing just your relatives or that one college friend is not enough, or maybe you wish you had a pen pal but never found one, or maybe you have one and they are super slow about writing you back. No matter the reason, you need/want someone to write! This happy mail swap is for you!
So how does this lil' swap work? You RSVP, send me your address, and then on the date of this meetup I will send you the name and address of the person you will be sending your happy mail to! Woohoo! You will then send your happy mail out by May 31, 2024.
What does your happy mail include? Why a handwritten note for sure! Your letter can be long or short, you can buy a card or make one, you can be creative with washi or stickers, you can draw a picture or color an existing one...whatever your heart desires! If you want to include a few little pen pal-esque treats like sheets of stationery, postcards, washi samples, stickers, or stamps - that's up to you - but you are under no obligation to buy anything for this swap. Be creative, have fun, and in return you will be rewarded with mail!
Note: We've been experiencing some USPS woes lately (i.e. late or non-arriving swaps). I hope 2024 is the year USPS finds its way back to reliable mail service. Until then, I guess this note serves as both an FYI and a disclaimer.
