This meetup group is intended to help more people know about Ed Seykota's trading tribe. But you don't have to be a trader to join this group. Actually in the tribes all around the world, most of the members are not traders, and they still enjoyed the benefit of the tribe meetings to help on their relationships with loved ones, and have better Right-Livelihood.
We are Ed Seykota's Trading Tribe in Brea/Yorba Linda, North Orange county.
Trading Tribe Process, or TTP, is a process invented by Ed Syekota, who is the pioneer of trend-following trading system, It's a process running in a supporting group, where each member helps each other to improve his/her capability to handle emotional impact in their decision making in trading and life, by better communicating with their subconscious thoughts through a simple but systematic approach. It's a unique process, simple and practical.
The typical means and procedures are:
1. Send & receive, in this process, each trader find a partner, to form sub-group of two, one role play as a sender(who talks) and the other as receiver(listener). The sender is free to talk any thing which bothers him/her, which is the issue he/she wants help from that meeting. The job of the receiver is only listening, no judging or advice. The receiver answers only "Thank you for sharing your feeling" or simply "Thank you", so to only validate and recognize sender's feeling, instead of judging or validating the content of sender's talking. The receiver also watches the body language(the Form) of the sender and encourages him/her to develop his form to a higher level. This process runs 5 minutes and then sender and receiver switch roles.
2. Hot seat, this time is one talker(sender) and all the other members are receivers. Sender's job is the same and the receivers job is the same to create a more supportive amenity to validate the sender's feeling(any negative feelings, fear, anxiety, etc), to recognize and validate his feeling, without commenting or judging what he/she is talking about. Receivers also encourage the sender to develop his/her forms by observing his/her body language/postures, by saying "Swing your arm more", or "Tighten your fist more" or "Jump higher", etc. Normally the sender eventually will enter a state where suddenly he/she feel relief and free from the negative feelings and thoughts, which is called he reached the Zero point.
Anything happens in the tribe stays in the tribe.
There are more procedures like role play, breathe work, etc, which you can find in Ed Seykota's web site: http://www.seykota.com/tt/default.html.
The Resources and "FAQ Index" provide helpful information for understanding TTP.
Such process often can help trader uncover his/her hidden conflict(k-not) in his/her subconscious level which induces fear or anxiety, and hinders his/her decision making process. Such k-nots many times are traced back to childhood experience. And trader is helped to uncover hidden baggage which prevent him/her from a better trading and livelihood.
The TTP(trading tribe process) can provide us a supporting environment to accept, respect and validate "bad" feelings, and encourage us to experience the unwanted feelings before we engage trading activity, so untie the k-not, thus we don't have to experience them during real trading, or mitigate their impact on trading. If we suppress them, they will create drama and we are going to be forced to experience it in real trade, or life, in a much harder way.
There's no member fee involved and it's free to attend the group meeting. If you are interested in participating TTP group meeting, you are more than welcome.

Thanks and good trading,
Vincent Wen
