Japan’s Gardens of Stone: Insights on Buddhist Design & Sustainability

Why do gardens so compel our interest, activity, and imaginations? What are the secrets of garden design? Japan offers important design and sustainability lessons for gardeners. Professor Norris Brock Johnson will speak on and show slides from his on-site research on Buddhist temple gardens in Japan. He will address the character and importance of gardens – as a deeply-affecting intersection of nature, landscaping, and religion. Dr. Johnson is professor emeritus of anthropology at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
