"At the touch of love everyone becomes a poet." – Plato
Ironically there are a number of noted and diverse poets who were either Platonists or Neo-Platonists. Ranging from John Donne to W.B. Yeats and Ezra Pound, Plato has had a significant influence on a number of celebrated poets. A bit of a paradox given Plato's view that “there is an old quarrel between philosophy and poetry.” We'll discuss it at the September 8th meeting. If anyone has a poem which demonstrates Plato's or Plotinus' impact, please post a link for consideration for the discussion. Here's a clear example from John Donne and John Keats:
