The March 2010 Meetup for the Vancouver Bloggers Meetup
As you may know, The Vancouver Blogger Meetup is joining forces with Social Media Club Vancouver for the next meetup
! We are presenting a panel about the social media lessons we learned from covering the Olympics.
The discussion will touch on themes including:
- Did blogs really supplement traditional media coverage and themes with unique voices during the Olympic Games?
- How did social media practitioners meet the challenge of covering all aspects of the event across Whistler and the Lower Mainland, from the athletes and sports events to arts and culture (or counter-culture?)
- Question and Answer period (addressing questions from the audience)
The panel will include:
Kirk LaPointe, Editor in Chief of the Vancouver Sun
Colin Horgan, blogger for True/Slant
John Biehler, blogger, tech specialist and social reporter from the True North Media House
Shane Birley, author of Blogging for Dummies
Jonathon Narvey, freelance writer and blogger for the National Post
The panel is moderated by Colleen Coplick, social media specialist. Details:Where
